Breaking Curses | The Spellbook

Never seek vengeance. Seek the Light.

You say to the witch, "I need to break a curse."

"Mmm hmm," she nods in understanding. "Tell me about this curse."

You tell her everything.

"Ok. I can help you." She gets up and walks over to one of her many bookshelves and pulls out a book. She brings it back with her and sits down.

She carefully opens the book to a bookmarked page.

Warning: Curses almost always have unintended consequences. Spells and curses draw upon various entities and energies in order to work. While prayers might call upon God or angels to help you, curses always draw upon negative entities and even demons who are always willing to carry out a nefarious cause. There is always an exchange - this for that. Expect to give something in return for the help of the entity you are calling upon. If you don't give willingly, something will be taken from you as payment. Depending on the circumstance, and the entity you are dealing with, curses may even backfire on you, bringing the curse you desired for someone else onto yourself or even onto your loved ones. Of course, there are other spells and magical ways to offset these potential hazards, but beware. Even the writer or the speaker of the spell can't predict the outcome with 100% certainty.

Never attempt to break a curse with a curse or by drawing upon a negative energy to help you. The only way to break a curse is to turn to the Light of illumination so you can see what you are dealing with and clear it completely. Only true sight and Light can break the curse.

"Well," she says, "What do you want to do?"

Offer a prayer to God, or whatever you call the Source. Ask God to make the shackles clear to you and ask for them to be removed immediately. If you believe you may have done something to bring this onto yourself, or even if you feel that someone else in your ancestral line did something, ask for forgiveness for yourself or on their behalf. Ask for any obstructions that have not been cleared, any shackles, any blockages, any veils to be totally cleared and removed.

Burn sage to remove negative and stagnant energy. Open the doors and windows to allow the negative energy to depart. Always follow with inviting positive energy into the space.

Burn palo santo to reset the energy. Open the doors and windows to allow any unwanted energy to depart. Always follow with inviting positive energy into the space.

Burn fragrant incense such as frankincense and myrrh to invite positive energy.

Sometimes, the curse we are experiencing is ourselves. We can be our own worst enemy. If this is the case, look within. What have you been doing? Try not to judge anything as good or bad, but simply see clearly the law of cause and effect in your life. Did you learn harmful habits? Some generational curses are learned behavior that has simply been passed on, unhealed. Have your thoughts and actions been beneficial or harmful? Take a moment to reflect, study yourself, and heal from within.
