III.1. Just as the Lord of the Serpents supports the earth, kundalini is the support of all yoga practice.

III.2 When the dormant kundalini awakens, through grace of the guru, all of the chakras and granthi (knots) are pierced.

III.3 Then, the sushumna channel becomes the royal path of prana and the mind becomes free of objects and fear of death is removed.

III.4 The sushumna channel,brahmarandhra, mahapatha, smasana, sambhavi, and madhyamargo are all the same thing.

III.5 And so, tay your best to awaken the goddess kundalini who sleeps at the base of the sushumna.

III.6 Viparita karani, vajroli, sakticalana

III.7 Mahamudra, mahabandha, mahabedha, khecari, uddiyana bandha, mula bandha, and jalandhara bandha are the 10 mudras as they destroy the diseases of old age.

III.8 Adinatha explained these mudras and they can bestow the 8 siddhis (superpowers). These mudras can protect practitioners and are easier for humans to attain than the devas (demigods).

III.9 This practice must be kept secret like a chest of jewels and should not be shared. Protect it like a faithful woman.

III.10 Mahamudra - Press the perineum with the left heel and stretch the right leg out, holding it firmly with the hands.

III.11 Contract the throat and direct the breath upward into the sushumna channel.

III.12 Like a coiled serpent when hit, straightens out, the the coiled kundalini in the base of the spine does the same thing. When this happens, the other two nadis relax.

III.13 Breathe out very slowly.
