TOTAL FREEDOM
WHAT SALVATION REALLY IS
Much of modern society sees freedom as the ability to do whatever you want and Christianity has fallen out of favor with much of society.
But salvation in Christ is actually true freedom.
Freedom from the grips of sin and death.
Freedom from fear and worry.
Freedom from that perpetual angst that many of us feel but can't quite put their finger on. That existential angst is the feeling of separation from God.
If we understand that God is our creator, our Source of wisdom, love, and abundance, then it becomes clear that separation from this Source cuts us off from feelings of safety and security. This causes us to turn to other sources of comfort, whatever we can do to distract ourselves and numb that strange feeling.
The reason why salvation in Christ is so powerful is because once you tap into that energy, it becomes obvious that surrendering to it is better than anything else that the world can offer. That feeling of angst goes away because you have reconnected to the source, and a flow of harmony, peace and joy begins to flood your life.
This is true liberation, true freedom.

REPENTANCE
TURNING FROM SIN
Many people nowadays are afraid to talk about sin, putting forth the idea that there is no such thing as good or bad, right or wrong, that it doesn't really matter what you do.
Yet, millions of people every day realize the hard way that is really does matter what you do and that every action has a consequence, positive or negative. Some call this karma, the law of cause and effect. The Christian context would call this the result of sin.
Sin is simply any action that separates us from God, the Source of all things, and from each other. Sin is what creates the rift between us, that keeps us bound in behaviors that harm us and others even if we want to stop. Some call it giving into our "intrusive thoughts."
The only way to overcome these intrusive thoughts is to reconnect with God and to ask God to control your thoughts and actions.
And so repentance simply means to turn around. We turn from the old ways of living to impress the world, being guided by our ego and riddled with intrusive thoughts, and turning back to God to order our lives, which always works out better for us.
