  • Monday, May 3 | Habari Gani? | Walk Up the Stairs

Keep going up. Weather Sun in Taurus Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius Monday, May 3, 2021 You going up or down? I'm going up. Today, we're bopping around, feeling friendly, waving and saying hey to everyone. We are elevating, and it's a party. It feels like we're in a gigantic and beautiful open mall of sorts, and we just hopped on a long escalator going up. It's obviously a party, over here. This moon in Aquarius has us feeling like we want to put on a turban and wear sunglasses inside. The only part that kind of blows the party is that not everyone is going up with us. As you hop on and are enjoying the ride, you notice that some of your friends just can't or don't want to get on the escalator with you. Try as you might, you call to them, urging them to hop on, but you're already on the escalator and as the distance gets farther, it becomes more difficult to hear each other and eventually, your friends are so far away, you can barely make out their faces. If this has ever happened to you, it's natural to have a moment of mourning, frustration, or feeling of loss. Sometimes when this happens, we may want to run down and try to get off the escalator, but the escalator is still going up, so you're running in place. This is neither helping you nor your friends. Realize that everyone's journey has a different trajectory, so just because certain friends aren't with you on this escalator doesn't meant that you won't meet them again in some time on a different level of this mysterious and exciting mall. Leveling up can be isolating and lonely, especially if you are just starting to make some pretty big life changes that people around you (including yourself) may find difficult to understand at first. But the reward is great, and remember the reason you began and continue to make these changes - because they feel good to you and are beneficial for those around you. Trust that those who are meant to be on this journey with you will show up when the time is right, when both of you have leveled up. Right now, we are feeling encouraged to connect with new friends and get some much needed insight from those we trust. The caution is to be discerning about the people you are getting advice from, so turn to a mentor or friend who has been where you are before. So enjoy the ride. Don't stop your progress because others aren't going in the same direction as you. Keep going up. The first print issue of Liveology Yoga Magazine is being released in June 2021. • "The thief comes only to steal, kill & destroy. I came that they may have life..." John 10:7-16

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:7-16 NRSV So again Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and bandits; but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, who is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away—and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. The hired hand runs away because a hired hand does not care for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.

  • "Live by the Spirit, I say..." | Galatians 5:16-21

Galatians 5:16-21 NRSV Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. For what the flesh desires is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit desires is opposed to the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not subject to the law. Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these. I am warning you, as I warned you before: those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

  • David's Song of Thanksgiving | 2 Samuel 22

2 samuel 22 1 David spoke to the LORd the words of this song on the day when the LORd delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. 2 He said: The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. 5 For the waves of death encompassed me, the dorrents of perdition assailed me; the cords of Sheol entangled me, the snares of death confronted me. 7 In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I called. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry came to his ears. 8 Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations of the heavens trembled and quaked, because he was angry. Smoke went up from his nostrils, and devouring fire from his mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from him. He bowed the heavens, and came down; thick darkness was under his feet. He rode on a cherub, and flew; he was seen upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness around him a canopy, thick clouds, a gathering of water. Out of the brightness before him coals of fire flamed forth. The LORD thundered from heaven; the Most High uttered his voice. He sent out arrows, and scattered them - lightning, and routed them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, the foundations of the world were laid bare at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast o the breath of his nostrils. 17 He reached from on high, he took me, he drew me out of mighty waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me. They came upon me in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my stay. He brought me out into a broad place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. 21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all his ordinances were before me, and from his statutes I did not turn aside. I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from guilt. Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight. 26 With the loyal you show yourself loyal; with the blameless you show yourself blameless; with the pure you show yourself pure, and with the crooked you show yourself perverse. You deliver a humble people, but your eyes are upon the haughty to bring them down. Indeed, you are my lamp, O LORD, the LORD lightens my darkness. But you I can crush a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God - his way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him. 32 For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? The God who had girded me with strength had opened wide my path. He made my feet like the feet of a deer, and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your help has made me great. You have made me stride freely, and my feet do not slip; I pursued my enemies and destroyed them, and did not turn back until they were consumed. I consumed them; I struck them down, so that they did not rise: they fell under my feet, For you girded me with strength for the battle; you made my assailants sink under me. You made my enemies turn their backs to me, those who hated me, and I destroyed them. They looked, but there was no one to save them; they cried to the LORd, but he did not answer them. I beat them fine like the dust of the earth, I crushed them and stamped them down like the mire of the streets. You delivered me from strife with the peoples; you kept me as the head of the nations; people whom I had not known served me. Foreigners came cringing to e; as soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me. Foreigners lost heart, and came trembling out of their strongholds. The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation, the God who gave me vengeance and brought me out from my enemies; you exalted me above my adversaries, you delivered me from the violent. For this I will extol you, O LORD, among the nations, and sing praises to your name. He is a tower of salvation for his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever. NRSV See Psalm 18 | Royal Thanksgiving for Victory, which has many similar verses. #Bible #Samuel #David

  • Creation of Humankind | Nag Hammadi Scriptures

Nag Hammadi Codex On the Origin of the World 112,25 - 114,4 Before Adam of light made his return, the authorities saw him in chaos. They laughed at the chief creator because he lied when he said, "I am God; no one exists before me." When they came to the chief creator, they said, "Is this being not the God who ruined our work?" He answered and sai, "Yes. If you do not want him to be able to ruin our work, come, let's create a human being out of the earth in the image of our body and with a likeness to this being, to serve us, so that when this being sees his likeness, he may fall in love with it. Then he will no longer ruin our work, and we shall make the children of the light our slaves for this entire age." All this happened in accordance with Pistis' forethought, so that humanity might appear in this likeness and condemn the authorities because of their modeled bodies. For their modeled bodies contained the light. The authorities received knowledge they needed to create humanity. Sophia Zoe, who is with Sabaoth, anticipated them. She laughed at their decision because they are blind and they created humanity in ignorance and against their own interests. They did not know what they were doing. So she anticipated them. She created her own human being first, so that he might tell the modeled bodies of the authorities how to despise them and how to escape them. The birth of the instructor happened like this. When Sophia let a drop of light fall, it landed on the water, and at once there appeared an androgynous human being. Sophia first made the drop into the for of a female body, and then she took the body and gave it a shape like the Mother who had appeared. She finished it in twelve months. An androgynous human being was born, whom the Greeks call Hermaphrodite. The Hebrews call the child's mother Eve of life, which means the female instructor of life, and the child born to her is lord. Later the authorities called the child the beast so that it might lead their modeled bodies astray. The meaning of the beast is the instructor, for it turned out to be the wisest of all creatures.

  • The Tree of Knowledge, The Beast, & Paradise | Nag Hammadi Scriptures

Nag Hammadi Codex On the Origin of the World 118,6-121 The Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil & The Beast When the rulers saw Adam and the woman with him in error and ignorance, like animals, they were very pleased. Then they found out that the immortal human was not going to pass them by and they would even have to fear the woman who turned into a tree. They were troubled and said, "Could this be the one who blinded us and taught us about the defiled woman who resembles the true human, in order to overpower us?" The seven hatched a plot. They approached Adam and Even carefully and said to him, "You. may eat the fruit of every tree created for you in paradise, but be careful not to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. If you eat, you will die." They gave them a great fright and withdrew up to their authorities. The beast, the wisest of all creatures, came by. when it saw the likeness of their mother, Eve, it said to her, "What did God say to you? 'Do not eat from the tree of knowledge'?" She said, "He not only said, 'Do not eat from it,' but 'Do not touch it, or you will die.'" The beast said to her, "Don't be afraid. You certainly will not die. He knows that when you eat from it your minds will become sober and you will be like gods, knowing the difference between evil and good people. He said this to you because he is jealous, so that you would not eat from it." Eve believed the words of the instructor. She looked at the tree and saw it was beautiful and appealing and she liked it. She took some of its fruits and ate, and she gave it to her husband too, and he also ate. Their minds opened. When they had eaten, the light of knowledge shone on them. When they clothed themselves with shame, they knew they were stripped of knowledge. When they became sober, they saw they were naked and they fell in love. When they saw their makers looked like beasts, they loathed them. They understood a great deal The Rulers Confront Adam & Eve in Paradise When the rulers realized that Adam and Eve had broken their commandment, they entered paradise and came to Adam and Eve with an earthquake and a great threat, in order to see what happened as a result of the help that was given. Adam and Eve were very much disturbed, and they hid in the trees in paradise. The rulers did not know where they were, and they said, "Adam, where are you?" Adam said, "I'm here. I was ashamed and hid because I was afraid of you." They said to him, ignorantly, "Who told you about the shame with which you clothed yourselves? Unless you ate from the tree!" Adam said, "The woman you gave me gave it to me, and I ate." The rulers said to Eve, "What have you done?" She answered and said, "The instructor urged me to eat, and I ate." The rulers approached the instructor. Their eyes were blinded by it, and they could not do anything to it. They were powerless, and they cursed it. Then they came to the woman, and they cursed her and her children. After the woman they cursed Adam and the earth and the fruit because of him. Everything they created they cursed. There is no blessing from them. God cannot come from evil. Since then, the authorities have known for certain that there is something stronger than they. They simply recognized that their commandment was broken. Great envy came into the world just because of the immortal human. When the rulers saw that their Adam had acquired different knowledge, they wanted to test him. They gathered all the domestic animals, wild beasts of the earth, and the birds of the sky, and brought them to Ada to see what he would call them. When he saw them, he gave names to the creatures of the rulers. The rulers were troubled that Adam had recovered from all his anguish. They gathered together and made a plan and said, "Look, Adam had become like one of us, and he knows the difference between light and darkness. Now perhaps he will go astray as he did with the tree of knowledge and will come to the tree of life and eat from it, and become immortal and rule and despise us and consider all our glory to be foolish. And he will denounce us and the world. So they threw Adam and Eve out of paradise. What they had done did not satisfy them. They were still afraid. So they went to the tree of life and set great dreadful things around it, fiery living creatures called cherubim, and among them they put a flaming sword, constantly turning in a terrifying way, so that no one from earth might ever enter that place. #Adam #Eve #paradise #cherubim #therulers #knowledge #treeofknowledge

  • The Song of Eve | Nag Hammadi Scriptures

A song after giving birth to her first child without a man. Nag Hammadi Codex On the Origin of the World 114, 4-24 Eve is the first virgin, and she gave birth to her first child without a man. She was her own physician. For this reason, she is said to have declared: I am part of my mother, and I am the mother. I am the wife, and I am the virgin. I am pregnant, I am the physician. I am the comforter of birth pains. My husband produced me, and I am his mother, and he is my father and lord. He is my strength, he speaks of what he wants reasonably. I am becoming, but I have given birth to a lordly person. #NagHammadi #Eve #virgin #birth #virgin #pregnancy #doctor

As you wake in the morning, inhale the mist and distant aroma of incense, you will be filled with gratitude for the beauty of Kentucky - the bluegrass, tall trees, and chorus of crickets. Begin your day in the Meditation Meadow, the Pavilion for Morning Yoga, or the Healing Oasis for some loving body work. Grab a coffee from The Rooster's Whistle, or tea from Appalachian Herbals, or a breakfast treat from Handlebar Nate's. Visit the sound garden for a tranquil beginning. During the day choose from workshops/kayaking/yoga/meditation/art/ guided nature walks or stillness under the shade of the trees along the river. There are a variety of vendors offering herbal teas, crystals, yoga attire, and a myriad of beautiful creations. The evenings are filled with dance parties, chanting, drum circles, and stargazing. Kentucky Yoga Festival is a locally homegrown, grassroots, organic, green event in it's 3rd year, Gratitude and Blessings!
