- Hatha Yoga is a Sheltering Monastery for those Afflicted by Suffering | Hatha Yoga Pradipika 1.10-16
Living in such a place, the yogi should practice yoga all the time as instructed by the guru. Chapter I I.10 Hatha yoga is a sheltering monastery for those afflicted by the three types of suffering and is a foundational support for all other practices of yoga. 11 The siddhi who desires success in yoga should keep the practice of hatha yoga very secret as it is potent when kept secret and ineffective when publicly revealed. 12 The hatha yoga practitioner should live alone in a small matha , a bow's length away from rocks, water, and fire in a virtuous land that is prosperous and free from disturbances. 13 The matha should have a small door and no windows. It hold be level with no holes in the floor. It should not be too high, too low, or too long. It should be well smeared with cow dung and free of insects. Outside, it should be beautiful with a raised seat and a well, surrounded by a wall. These characteristics of a matha have been laid out by previous siddhis as conducive to yoga practice. 14 Living in such a place, the yogi should practice yoga all the time as instructed by the guru. 15 Yoga fails for 6 reasons: over eating, over exertion, excessive talking, observance of inappropriate disciplines, keeping company that exhibits a lack of self control, and unsteadiness of body and mind. 16 Yoga succeeds for 6 reasons: zeal, determination, courage, true knowledge, conviction, and renunciation of inappropriate people. - Aaron’s Priesthood Inaugurated | Leviticus 9
Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. The Books of the Bible Aaron’s Priesthood Inaugurated 1 On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. 2 He said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD. 3 And say to the people of Israel, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering; a calf and a lamb, yearlings without blemish, for a burnt offering; 4 and an ox and a ram for an offering of well-being to sacrifice before the LORD; and a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the LORD will appear to you.’” 5 They brought what Moses commanded to the front of the tent of meeting; and the whole congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. 6 And Moses said, “This is the thing that the LORD commanded you to do, so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.” 7 Then Moses said to Aaron, “Draw near to the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people; and sacrifice the offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as the LORD has commanded.” 8 Aaron drew near to the altar, and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. 9 The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the horns of the altar; and the rest of the blood he poured out at the base of the altar. 10 But the fat, the kidneys, and the appendage of the liver from the sin offering he turned into smoke on the altar, as the LORD commanded Moses; 11 and the flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp. 12 Then he slaughtered the burnt offering. Aaron’s sons brought him the blood, and he dashed it against all sides of the altar. 13 And they brought him the burnt offering piece by piece, and the head, which he turned into smoke on the altar. 14 He washed the entrails and the legs and, with the burnt offering, turned them into smoke on the altar. 15 Next he presented the people’s offering. He took the goat of the sin offering that was for the people, and slaughtered it, and presented it as a sin offering like the first one. 16 He presented the burnt offering, and sacrificed it according to regulation. 17 He presented the grain offering, and, taking a handful of it, he turned it into smoke on the altar, in addition to the burnt offering of the morning. 18 He slaughtered the ox and the ram as a sacrifice of well-being for the people. Aaron’s sons brought him the blood, which he dashed against all sides of the altar, 19 and the fat of the ox and of the ram—the broad tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the two kidneys and the fat on them, and the appendage of the liver. 20 They first laid the fat on the breasts, and the fat was turned into smoke on the altar; 21 and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron raised as an elevation offering before the LORD, as Moses had commanded. 22 Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them; and he came down after sacrificing the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the offering of well-being. 23 Moses and Aaron entered the tent of meeting, and then came out and blessed the people; and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people. 24 Fire came out from the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces. - The Birth of Jesus the Messiah | Matthew 1
And they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means, “God is with us.” The Books of the Bible The Birth of Jesus the Messiah 18 Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19 Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. 20 But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 23 “Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means, “God is with us.” 24 When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took her as his wife, 25 but had no marital relations with her until she had borne a son; and he named him Jesus. An account of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham. The Books of the Bible Matthew 1:1-17 1 An account of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham. 2 Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, 3 and Judah the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Aram, 4 and Aram the father of Aminadab, and Aminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon, 5 and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse, 6 and Jesse the father of King David. And David was the father of Solomon by the wife of Uriah, 7 and Solomon the father of Rehoboam, and Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asaph, 8 and Asapha the father of Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah, 9 and Uzziah the father of Jotham, and Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah, 10 and Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, and Manasseh the father of Amos, and Amos the father of Josiah, 11 and Josiah the father of Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylon. 12 And after the deportation to Babylon: Jechoniah was the father of Salathiel, and Salathiel the father of Zerubbabel, 13 and Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, and Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor, 14 and Azor the father of Zadok, and Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud, 15 and Eliud the father of Eleazar, and Eleazar the father of Matthan, and Matthan the father of Jacob, 16 and Jacob the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah. 17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the deportation to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the deportation to Babylon to the Messiah, fourteen generations. - Wisdom’s Part in Creation | Proverbs 8
The LORD created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago. Wisdom’s Part in Creation 22 The LORD created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of long ago. 23 Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. 24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth— 26 when he had not yet made earth and fields, or the world’s first bits of soil. 27 When he established the heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28 when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, 29 when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 then I was beside him, like a master worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, 31 rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the human race. 32 And now, my children, listen to me: happy are those who keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. 34 Happy is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD; 36 but those who miss me injure themselves; all who hate me love death.” New Revised Standard Version Liveology Yoga Studios creates uplifting content for your whole life. - In the Beginning, there is Sweating | Hatha Yoga Pradipika 2:12-18
Early on in practice, take milk and ghee. Chapter 2 In the Beginning, there is Sweating II.12 In the beginning, there is sweating, in the middle, trembling, and in the highest, the body becomes grounded and transcendent like a tree. Therefore, one should practice restraining the breath. 13 Any perspiration that arises from pranayama should be massaged back into the skin, causing the body to become strong and light. 14 Early on in practice, take milk and ghee. Once the practitioner becomes more advanced, this is not necessary. 15 Just as a wild animal like a lion or tiger is tamed gradually, the same applies to the breath. Slowly bring it under control or it can cause injury or even kill the practitioner. 16 Through correct practice of pranayama, one gains freedom from all diseases. Incorrect practice manifests disease. 17 Incorrect practice of pranayama can lead to hiccups, asthma, bronchial disease, ear and eye pain, and other diseases. 18 Exhale slowly and attentively. Inhale slowly and attentively. Only then can a practitioner restrain the breath and receive the benefits of practice. Liveology Yoga Studios creates uplifting content for your whole life. - Nadab and Abihu | Leviticus 10
You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean. The Books of the Bible Nadab and Abihu 1 Now Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, each took his censer, put fire in it, and laid incense on it; and they offered unholy fire before the LORD, such as he had not commanded them. 2 And fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD. 3 Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the LORD meant when he said, ‘Through those who are near me I will show myself holy, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” And Aaron was silent. 4 Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Come forward, and carry your kinsmen away from the front of the sanctuary to a place outside the camp.” 5 They came forward and carried them by their tunics out of the camp, as Moses had ordered. 6 And Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, “Do not dishevel your hair, and do not tear your vestments, or you will die and wrath will strike all the congregation; but your kindred, the whole house of Israel, may mourn the burning that the LORD has sent. 7 You shall not go outside the entrance of the tent of meeting, or you will die; for the anointing oil of the LORD is on you.” And they did as Moses had ordered. 8 And the LORD spoke to Aaron: 9 Drink no wine or strong drink, neither you nor your sons, when you enter the tent of meeting, that you may not die; it is a statute forever throughout your generations. 10 You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean; 11 and you are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes that the LORD has spoken to them through Moses. 12 Moses spoke to Aaron and to his remaining sons, Eleazar and Ithamar: Take the grain offering that is left from the LORD’S offerings by fire, and eat it unleavened beside the altar, for it is most holy; 13 you shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your due and your sons’ due, from the offerings by fire to the LORD; for so I am commanded. 14 But the breast that is elevated and the thigh that is raised, you and your sons and daughters as well may eat in any clean place; for they have been assigned to you and your children from the sacrifices of the offerings of well-being of the people of Israel. 15 The thigh that is raised and the breast that is elevated they shall bring, together with the offerings by fire of the fat, to raise for an elevation offering before the LORD; they are to be your due and that of your children forever, as the LORD has commanded. 16 Then Moses made inquiry about the goat of the sin offering, and—it had already been burned! He was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s remaining sons, and said, 17 “Why did you not eat the sin offering in the sacred area? For it is most holy, and God has given it to you that you may remove the guilt of the congregation, to make atonement on their behalf before the LORD. 18 Its blood was not brought into the inner part of the sanctuary. You should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.” 19 And Aaron spoke to Moses, “See, today they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and yet such things as these have befallen me! If I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been agreeable to the LORD?” 20 And when Moses heard that, he agreed. - NYC Care
Mayor Bill Deblasio is devoting $100 million to NYC Care, Universal Healthcare for everyone in New York City, including undocumented immigrants. The United States is lagging behind every other developed country in healthcare. Americans as a whole have less healthcare and more expensive healthcare costs than any other developed country in the world. With 44 million Americans without health insurance and another 38 million with inadequate coverage, 20 percent of our country is exposed in times of . That's 20 percent of the country. Even with health insurance, often they can't afford their prescriptions or copays on emergency procedures. Even receiving an organ transplant in this country is more dependent on your ability to pay than the urgency of your condition. This is inhumane. The Republican Party has turned healthcare into a political leveraging point, when it's not. This is a human rights issue. President Trump and Congressional Republicans have decreased funding for the ACA, and the number of insured Americans has decreased by millions since Trump came into office. We can no longer wait for Congress to do the right thing and protect Americans. Mayor DeBlasio is building an example that mayors across the nation should follow. While congress continues to argue and shut down the government, every mayor in every major city should create a feasibility study immediately and figure out a way to provide healthcare for their residents - there is no choice about whether we can do it- it's a matter of when. Let's try it in Atlanta and Los Angeles. In Portland, and Denver. Today, call, tweet, email your mayors and city councils and demand your city figure out a way to provide healthcare. There is always a way. Let's prove that Universal Healthcare is possible.

- First Step Act
Criminal Justice Reform is long overdue in the United States, and the First Step Act, which will likely go to a vote in the Senate on Thursday, claims to be a move in the right direction for federal prisoners. The criminal justice system in America has been disproportionately incarcerating black, brown, and poor people for generations. And often, with strict mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines and laws like "three strikes you're out," these individuals are incarcerated for longer sentences than their white counterparts. Most notable of them all is the mass incarceration of black men for drug offenses related to crack cocaine. Today, 46% of inmates in federal prisons are incarcerated for drug crimes. The biggest problem is that despite incarcerating huge numbers of people, it's not decreasing crime. At the end of the day the recidivism rate for federal inmates is a whopping 45%, meaning that almost 1 out of 2 people leave prison without the tools necessary to get a job and integrate back into their communities. So many end up committing other crimes and wind end up going right back to prison. Thousands of people each year are released from prison in a worse state than when they came in. So if the point of putting people in prison is just to babysit them in poor conditions at at great expense, we're doing a great job. But if we want to actually make our communities safer it's not working. Because our communities are not safe as long as we are sending people back home without the proper resources to succeed. And we are doing a human rights injustice if we are using the criminal justice system to simply ruin people's lives. That should not be the point. The First Step Act, as it looks today, offers solutions to decrease mandatory minimum sentences, improve recidivism, expand training and education programs, and improve quality of life for federal inmates. If passed, judges would have the ability to diverge from strict mandatory minimum sentencing laws for nonviolent drug offenders. The bill would also eliminate the possibility of life in prison without parole for drug offenders punished under the infamous three strikes rule, capping mandatory minimum sentences for them at 25 years. Another major provision makes the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010, which decreased penalties for possession of crack cocaine retroactive, meaning that it would reduce the sentences of thousands of people already in prison. If this bill passes, thousands of federal prisoners incarcerated for nonviolent drug offenses like possession would be eligible for early release, some immediately. Convicted murderers, sex offenders, terrorists, spies, and undocumented immigrants would not be eligible. Other parts of the bill help to improve the quality of life of inmates. Provisions such as no longer shackling female inmates during childbirth and the postpartum period as well as ensuring inmates are placed in facilities within 500 driving miles from their families help to provide a more humane experience. Even though many on both sides of the aisle are still split on whether to support this Republican driven bill, it has widespread bipartisan support from organizations such as the ACLU and the Fraternal Order of Police, Congressmen Corey Booker, John Lewis, Speaker Paul Ryan, and even President Trump. The original version of the bill passed by a wide margin in the House this past May, despite hesitancy from liberals that the bill didn't go nearly far enough. After all, this bill only affects federal inmates, who account for less than 9% of the total 2.1 million people incarcerated in our country. Even though this is not the groundbreaking bill that many Democrats dreamed of, this is an important step in the right direction to more just sentencing for federal drug offenses and more humane treatment for thousands of Americans in federal prison.
- Trump Shutdown
President Trump said he's Proud to Shutdown stating yesterday, "If we don’t get what we want one way or the other, whether it’s through you, through military, through anything you want to call — I will shut down the government. I am proud to shut down the government. I will take the mantle.” President Trump's infamous border wall promised during his presidential campaign in 2016 is becoming a public farce. In an attempt to prevent a government shutdown on Dec. 21, Democrats offered $1.3 billion in exchange for a deal on DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. He declined that offer, unwilling to compromise. Trump wants $5 billion with no restrictions. Unfortunately, for President Trump, this battle doesn't seem to be over the wall at all since the Department of Homeland Security estimates it will cost $70 billion, far more than the President is asking for. To be clear, the $5 billion that President Trump is willing to shut the government down over is only 7% of the cost to actually build a wall. Not to mention this does not include the cost of acquiring the land from American citizens who currently own the majority of the land. So why is President Trump proud to shut down the government over an amount of funding that will barely cover the southern border of California alone? What is this really about? Clearly, our current President is not looking out for the best interest of the American people. Trump, supposedly the master dealmaker, has no intention of making a deal. He literally stormed out of his own office during the meeting with House Leader Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. President Trump has already backed down from his campaign promise that he would make Mexico pay for the wall. That's not happening, so now, he had pinned it on the American people. Rather than focusing on running the country, President trump is using this embarrassing spectacle as an attempt to drum up support amongst his base for the upcoming 2020 election. Clearly, the President is willing to shut down the government simply for a small win in the eyes of his base. Most extraordinary of all of this is the President's willingness to bring the military in if he does not get his way. I would like to know exactly how the President intends to do this. What kind of country are we becoming that the President of the United States is proud to hold his country hostage and is willing to use military force to do it? It looks like he may actually be considering using his position as Commander in Chief to try to unilaterally order the Department of Defense to build the wall if he doesn't get the votes needed in Congress. Is this a dictatorship or is it a democracy? Fortunately, Democrats take over a majority in the House of Representatives in January, having gained 40 seats in the November midterm elections - which I believe was American's response to Trump and his continued shenanigans with our country. As far as Democrats are concerned, we don't negotiate with terrorists, and this is one of many examples of President Trump attempting to bully the American people like a petulant child rather than running this great country as the dignified leader of the free world. Even if the President attempts to use the military budget and resources to build the wall, the would still need congressional approval. And that's simply not going to happen once the new Representatives are sworn in in 2019. The Republicans, including the President, simply need to stop shutting down the government as a political leverage point and do their jobs. The President and Congress have until Dec. 21 to fix this situation to keep the government functional for the American people. This is exactly why Americans are losing faith in the federal government. What do you think Trump is up to here? #Trump #Democrats #Republicans #Government
- The False Attractions of Adultery | Proverbs 7
Keep my commandments and live, keep my teachings as the apple of your eye. The False Attractions of Adultery 7:1 My child, keep my words and store up my commandments with you; 2 keep my commandments and live, keep my teachings as the apple of your eye; 3 bind them on your fingers, write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call insight your intimate friend, 5 that they may keep you from the loosea woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words. 6 For at the window of my house I looked out through my lattice, 7 and I saw among the simple ones, I observed among the youths, a young man without sense, 8 passing along the street near her corner, taking the road to her house 9 in the twilight, in the evening, at the time of night and darkness. 10 Then a woman comes toward him, decked out like a prostitute, wily of heart. 11 She is loud and wayward; her feet do not stay at home; 12 now in the street, now in the squares, and at every corner she lies in wait. 13 She seizes him and kisses him, and with impudent face she says to him: 14 “I had to offer sacrifices, and today I have paid my vows; 15 so now I have come out to meet you, to seek you eagerly, and I have found you! 16 I have decked my couch with coverings, colored spreads of Egyptian linen; 17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. 18 Come, let us take our fill of love until morning; let us delight ourselves with love. 19 For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey. 20 He took a bag of money with him; he will not come home until full moon.” 21 With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him. 22 Right away he follows her, and goes like an ox to the slaughter, or bounds like a stag toward the trapa 23 until an arrow pierces its entrails. He is like a bird rushing into a snare, not knowing that it will cost him his life. 24 And now, my children, listen to me, and be attentive to the words of my mouth. 25 Do not let your hearts turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths. 26 for many are those she has laid low, and numerous are her victims. 27 Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death. The Birth of Jesus Luke 2:1-7 1 In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 All went to their own towns to be registered. 4 Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. 5 He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. The Visit of the Wise Men Matthew 2:1-12 1 In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.” 3 When King Herod heard this, he was frightened, and all Jerusalem with him; 4 and calling together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. 5 They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea; for so it has been written by the prophet: 6 ‘And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who is to shepherd my people Israel.’” 7 Then Herod secretly called for the wise mena and learned from them the exact time when the star had appeared. 8 Then he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child; and when you have found him, bring me word so that I may also go and pay him homage.” 9 When they had heard the king, they set out; and there, ahead of them, went the star that they had seen at its rising,a until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw that the star had stopped,a they were overwhelmed with joy. 11 On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12 And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another road. The Shepherds and the Angels Luke 2:8-15 8 In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: 11 to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 So they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the child lying in the manger. 17 When they saw this, they made known what had been told them about this child; 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them. 19 But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them. The Wedding at Cana John 2:1-11 1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” 4 And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Now standing there were six stone water jars for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the chief steward.” So they took it. 9 When the steward tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and then the inferior wine after the guests have become drunk. But you have kept the good wine until now.” 11 Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. The Resurrection of Jesus Matthew 28:1-10 1 After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. 5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ This is my message for you.” 8 So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 Suddenly Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” The Story of Mary Maryam 19:16-33 16 And mention in the Book ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Mary when she withdrew from her family to a place in the east, 17 screening herself off from them. Then We sent to her Our angel, ˹Gabriel,˺ appearing before her as a man, perfectly formed. 18 She appealed, “I truly seek refuge in the Most Compassionate from you! ˹So leave me alone˺ if you are God-fearing.” 19 He responded, “I am only a messenger from your Lord, ˹sent˺ to bless you with a pure son.” 20 She wondered, “How can I have a son when no man has ever touched me, nor am I unchaste?” 21 He replied, “So will it be! Your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me. And so will We make him a sign for humanity and a mercy from Us.’ It is a matter ˹already˺ decreed.” 22 So she conceived him and withdrew with him to a remote place. 23 Then the pains of labour drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She cried, “Alas! I wish I had died before this, and was a thing long forgotten!” 24 So a voice reassured her from below her, “Do not grieve! Your Lord has provided a stream at your feet. 25 And shake the trunk of this palm tree towards you, it will drop fresh, ripe dates upon you. 26 So eat and drink, and put your heart at ease. But if you see any of the people, say, ‘I have vowed silence1 to the Most Compassionate, so I am not talking to anyone today.’” 27 Then she returned to her people, carrying him. They said ˹in shock˺, “O Mary! You have certainly done a horrible thing! 28 O sister of Aaron! Your father was not an indecent man, nor was your mother unchaste.” 29 So she pointed to the baby. They exclaimed, “How can we talk to someone who is an infant in the cradle?” 30 ˹Jesus˺ declared, “I am truly a servant of Allah. He has destined me to be given the Scripture and to be a prophet. 31 He has made me a blessing wherever I go, and bid me to establish prayer and give alms-tax as long as I live, 32 and to be kind to my mother. He has not made me arrogant or defiant. 33 Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I will be raised back to life!” Liveology Yoga Studios creates uplifting content for your whole life.
