Samasthitih is point 0. Samasthitih allows you to find your center at the start of practice and between standing postures. Samasthitih, or equal standing posture, is a grounding and stabilizing posture that allows you to find your center, your inner strength. In Ashtanga yoga, Samasthitih is point 0, both the first posture we start with and the place we return to between postures for the body to reset come back to neutral alignment. - Gain Control over Your Life | Habari Gani?
Focus. Weather Sun in Taurus Waning Gibbous Moon in Sagittarius The most recent Habari Gani? are public. Subscribe for the archive. Monday, May 23, 2022 The concept of pratyahara or sense withdrawal, the 5th limb of yoga, took a number of years for me to comprehend. I always thought that withdrawl of the senses required extreme measures like putting yourself into a floatation chamber, where quite literally there is nothing for you t0 focus on. But over the past few months, I have begun to recognize that pratyahara is much more subtle than that and is an action of our consciousness that can be accomplished anytime without any external means. My access into pratyahara began to develop when it became a matter of necessity at a time that my attention was very unfocused. I began to discover this when I first opened a physical studio last summer and experienced a serious amount of confusion almost immediately. Up until this moment, I really didn't know any other methods of yoga besides Ashtanga because at that point, that's really all I had practiced. But when the studio opened, suddenly, I felt the pressure to make the studio popular by holding classes that "the people would like," so by popular opinion, I invited others teachers to the team who taught different things. As an Ashtangi to the core, this created a great deal of confusion for me and for my teaching. My students were suddenly learning multiple methods at once. I would tell them to put the fingers together, another teacher would say it's ok to have them apart. Soon, Ashtanga felt "too hard" for some, and they just picked the easier classes. And almost immediately, I felt I had compromised in a way in which I wasn't comfortable. The studio was a reflection of the fact that my attention was all over the place. It was focused outward, toward the opinions of others and how to make money, not inward, toward my true alignment and my true purpose. The solution? Withdrawal of the senses. Focusing your attention on one thing requires withdrawing your attention from every other thing. In a room full of people, in order to focus on one person speaking, you must ignore everyone else's voice. In some ways, we practice pratyahara all the time, but we may not always have control over it. So how to you gain control? First, you have to make a decision. What do I want to focus my attention on? If the answer to this is unclear, pratyahara becomes impossible. Most of the time, our indecision and lack of clarity on what we want is the problem. As long as you have no definite direction, you will just wander around from here to there. As long as the eyes have nothing to focus on, they will wander around, looking at whatever is shiny or interesting to us. As long as the mind has nothing to focus on, it will be a vast sea of chaos. Second, once you decide what you want to focus on, comes commitment to your decision. It doesn't work to focus on one thing in this moment and another thing in the next moment. It must remain steady for some length of time. This commitment comes with the recognition that when distractions come that you will ignore them so that the attention can remain steady. If you allow the distractions to take your attention away, remembering your decision to focus your attention and bringing it back. As this requires less and less effort, this is pratyahara - total elimination of distractions that sets the foundation for concentration, the next limb of yoga. Pratyahara can be life changing because it can help us to focus our creative energy, rather than allowing it to be diffuse. Most of us, I believe, have diffuse energy. This diffusion is what makes it difficult for us to finish our first novel or follow through on that business idea. With so many things flowing through our minds or many people and responsibilities pulling us in different directions, it becomes impossible to generate enough energy in one direction for it to gain momentum. You cannot focus on everything just like you cannot please everyone. There has to be some level of choice made in order there to be enough energy for success. A truly healthy, successful person is also adept at saying no to things that are not in alignment and focusing on the things that are. With increasing levels of intention and focus on a dream or a change in our lives, for instance, it can appear almost magical when it begins to develop and grow. Gaining the control over our lives that most of us desire, to me, comes down to deciding what we want, and focusing all of our energy in that direction, and focusing our attention away from what we don't want. This is deeply related to the Law of Attraction - what you focus on multiplies. This is how yoga practice can permeate your whole life and create the deep transformation many of us are seeking that is so much more than physical. It is observing our habits, where we have been giving our attention, deciding if we want to continue sending our energy in that direction or if we want something else, and changing our actions accordingly. - The Living Stone and a Chosen People | 1 Peter 2
Beloved, I urge you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the desires of the flesh that wage war against the soul. The Books of the Bible The Living Stone and a Chosen People 1 Peter 2:1 Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander. 2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. 4 Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and 5 like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in scripture: “See, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” 7 To you then who believe, he is precious; but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the very head of the corner,” 8 and “A stone that makes them stumble, and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Live as Servants of God 11 Beloved, I urge you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the desires of the flesh that wage war against the soul. 12 Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that, though they malign you as evildoers, they may see your honorable deeds and glorify God when he comes to judge. 13 For the Lord’s sake accept the authority of every human institution, whether of the emperor as supreme, 14 or of governors, as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right. 15 For it is God’s will that by doing right you should silence the ignorance of the foolish. 16 As servants of God, live as free people, yet do not use your freedom as a pretext for evil. 17 Honor everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God. Honor the emperor. The Example of Christ’s Suffering 18 Slaves, accept the authority of your masters with all deference, not only those who are kind and gentle but also those who are harsh. 19 For it is a credit to you if, being aware of God, you endure pain while suffering unjustly. 20 If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, what credit is that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God’s approval. 21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps. 22 “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.” 23 When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls. - Prayer for Recovery from Grave Illness: Psalm 6
Why do the nations conspire, and the peoples plot in vain? Language Hebrew Prayer for Recovery from Grave Illness To the leader: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David. 1 O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger, or discipline me in your wrath. 2 Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror. 3 My soul also is struck with terror, while you, O LORD—how long? 4 Turn, O LORD, save my life; deliver me for the sake of your steadfast love. 5 For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who can give you praise? 6 I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping. 7 My eyes waste away because of grief; they grow weak because of all my foes. 8 Depart from me, all you workers of evil, for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping. 9 The LORD has heard my supplication; the LORD accepts my prayer. 10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and struck with terror; they shall turn back, and in a moment be put to shame. - Jalandhara Bandha
Jalandhara bandha is one of the bandhas or energy locks in the body that we can use to control the flow of prana or energy in, out, and throughout the body. Jalandhara bandha is throat lock and is practiced by dropping the chin and holding it against the chest. This can be done on an inhalation or exhalation and is often practiced in combination with kumbhaka breath retention. References Hatha Yoga Pradipika III.70 Contract the throat, holding the chin firmly against the chest. This is called jalandhara bandha and destroys old age and death. Pranayama Practice Jalandhara is often practiced during pranayama during kumbhaka, breath retentions. Take a few, long, slow deep breaths, focusing on maintaining the same length of the inhalation and exhalation. After a few breaths, engate jalandhara bandha and try to hold the breath at the top of the inhalation for the same length of time you inhaled. Likewise, the same can be done at the bottom of the exhalation, though many find this to be more difficult. Asana Practice You will also find jalandhara bandha, naturally practiced during certain asanas, though here, the intention is not to hold the breath but to direct the flow of energy. - Thanksgiving and Encouragement | 2 Timothy 1
Hold to the standard of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. The Books of the Bible Salutation 2 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, for the sake of the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus, 2 To Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. Thanksgiving and Encouragement 3 I am grateful to God—whom I worship with a clear conscience, as my ancestors did—when I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 Recalling your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you. 6 For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands; 7 for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. 8 Do not be ashamed, then, of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, 10 but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 11 For this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher, 12 and for this reason I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know the one in whom I have put my trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard until that day what I have entrusted to him. 13 Hold to the standard of sound teaching that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard the good treasure entrusted to you, with the help of the Holy Spirit living in us. 15 You are aware that all who are in Asia have turned away from me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes. 16 May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chain; 17 when he arrived in Rome, he eagerly searched for me and found me 18 —may the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! And you know very well how much service he rendered in Ephesus. - Love’s Dream | Song of Solomon 3
Upon my bed at night I sought him whom my soul loves. Love’s Dream 3:1 Upon my bed at night I sought him whom my soul loves; I sought him, but found him not; I called him, but he gave no answer. 2 “I will rise now and go about the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my soul loves.” I sought him, but found him not. 3 The sentinels found me, as they went about in the city. “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?” 4 Scarcely had I passed them, when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go until I brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me. 5 I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the wild does: do not stir up or awaken love until it is ready! - Alignment is Everything | Habari Gani?
Your life was custom designed for you. Weather Sun in Taurus Full Moon in Scorpio The most recent Habari Gani are always public. Subscribe for the archive. Monday, May 16, 2021 Finding alignment with your purpose or your own personal lane is everything. I spent over 30 years flailing around doing different things, random unfulfilling jobs, plagued with anxiety, fear, and insecurity. And then I found yoga and over time it has helped me to find myself. My true self. Your life was custom designed for you. The divine wants you to break through fear, doubt, and negative emotions so you can access the life of your dreams. In your personal place of alignment there is no insecurity, no jealousy, no searching for love or validation outside of yourself because you have found yourself. Everything you desire flows from this alignment with your truth and your purpose. So how to find this alignment? Yoga is one path, but the longer I practice and teach yoga I realize there are many paths. Ultimately, I think, it comes from just sitting tf down and tapping in. Quieting the mind. Allowing all distractions, repetitive thoughts, assumptions, expectations, and opinions of others to disappear. And when that happens you can see clearly who you are and what your perfectly designed path is. All those things you fantasize about (all the “I wish I could” or “if I only had…” or the “I may look like this right now, but I’m really that”) are visions of something very real. If you see visions of a Maserati, congratulations! If you see yourself having a multi-million dollar business, that’s awesome! You cannot help your path. It is what it is. Believe with wild fervor that they exist and let that level of belief (that may look insane to non-believers) carry you right to it. On Sunday, I had the joy of teaching my friends at Fan Controlled Football before hitting the road to Miami to study with my teachers Kino MacGregor and Tim Feldmann at Miami Life Center. I drove all day, through a thunderstorm and arrived much later than expected. The moment I parked outside of the Airbnb, my phone went off notifying me the full moon and lunar eclipse was at its peak. This, to me is the perfection of alignment.🌝 Praying that you live the life of your wildest dreams, which is simply a life of alignment. When you find it, things seem to flow perfectly. It doesn't meant that there won't be problems or obstacles - life is what it is. But look for the seamlessness. Look for the ways things line up. This is how you know when you are in the sweet spot. Find it and stay there. Love you, family! Peace & Pineapples. Christina Liveology, LLC is a yoga media company creating uplifting content for your whole life. Subscribe! - Why You Shouldn’t Skip Final Rest {Savasana/Sukhasana} after Yoga Practice
This is a really special time. Peace family, it's Christina. And today we're talking about savasana or final rest, and why you should never skip it after practice. So savasana is one of the names for final rest in the end of yoga practice. And so the what you know, if you've ever been to a yoga class, usually a teacher will have you lay down at the end. Generally, they'll ask that you stretch the legs unless the back is a little bit tight - then they may tell you to bend the knees, which is cool. And then you'll have the hands facing upwards, maybe you'll close the eyes. And then sometimes they'll even do some other type of stuff after that, like maybe they'll light some incense or some palo santo they might even play music or not. But the point, final rest, or savasana is simply to allow the body to rejuvenate, but also to receive information or to connect with the divine. You can say that during the time that you take final rest, this is a really special time, especially for your energetic body. So when we practice asanas, and do physical yoga postures and pranayama, and all of this stuff, a lot of times it feels like we're just working our bones and our muscles right in our lungs. But what we're really working on is our energetic or our spiritual body as well. And maybe even more so. If you think about everything, physical matter manifestation of something that was on the spiritual realm or on the more subtle realms before a thought. And so even physical pain illness in the body is a manifestation of something that existed beforehand, whether that it was mental anguish, pain, guilt, it could be a lot of things that manifests in our physical bodies. And so what happens is we do all of these postures, we do all of this breath, removing energy, that's really what we're doing, we're creating a blockage, you know, and then we're releasing it, we're creating a blockage. And then we're releasing it. And when that happens, it's like, almost like wringing out toxins. So all of a sudden, the body is flush with all of these things that have been released, physical, but also spiritual, sometimes emotional, it can even be habits that we're releasing through our practice, things we're becoming aware of about ourselves through our practice. When you lay down, it's a moment for all of these things to settle into digest. On every different level, on the physical level, it's a chance for the blood pressure to reset the heart rate to reset for the kidneys to start pulling all of the blood through, and to maybe take out some of the ways which you'll notice after yoga class, sometimes you'll have to go to the restroom, because your digestive system starts to get engaged, right. And now there's all the stuff in the bloodstream that needs to get removed. But also, it's the same things happening on the subtle body in the mind. Let's say you did a practice, and you really worked on the shoulders and discovered something about external rotation of the shoulders. Well, that's physical. But it's also something that the mind is learning a new habit, maybe it just released an old habit of closing inward, you know, or something like that could have happened. And so during savasana, or final rest, the mind is even processing everything that it learned, and is incorporating those things into his body, and then the spirit. When you lay in final rest on your back with the palms facing upward, this is a very receptive position, when we're putting the body in alignment. So the body is in one long line. And we're facing upward toward the sky toward the heavens or toward the divine. And this is a very receptive position for us to receive information and to connect, commune with our higher selves or with the divine. It can be a powerful moment. You might even notice that you'll receive insights around this time, or that things seem to start to become clearer for you, or even that your mind finally starts to relax as everything starts to come into alignment here. It's super important not to skip final rest after yoga practice, because when you don't allow for final rest, it can create a chaos within the body or it can leave the body kind of feeling in a discombobulated state. So we've moved a bunch of stuff around, moved a bunch of stuff around, moved a bunch of stuff around got all this stuff. Falling, and then just get up and go, that can be sometimes difficult for the nervous system. And so we've changed habits we've changed, you know some things about the mind, we've broken through some things. And then to just go off into the world without resting can be jarring for the nervous system, and can actually create like anxiety can make it difficult to sleep and things like that. So it's really good to go ahead and just take that rest, so that the nervous system in the body and the mind and the spirit can all kind of re-harmonize before you go back into the world. And when you do that, usually you'll find that you have a really beautiful I call it the yoga high, or just a really relaxed, beautiful and peaceful feeling that can last with you for some time after practice, but you have to kind of let it sink in. So I hope that was helpful with the why we do final rest and hopefully that will encourage you to please take a few minutes I would say three to five minutes if you can even longer I took I've taken very long shavasana at times if you have the time and if you feel that you need it. Sometimes it's good to take that final rest. So as always, I love you guys and I will see you the next one. Liveology Yoga Studios creates uplifting content for your whole life. - A Living Hope | 1 Peter 1
Like obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires that you formerly had in ignorance. Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. The Books of the Bible 1 Peter. 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, Salutation To the exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 who have been chosen and destined by God the Father and sanctified by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ and to be sprinkled with his blood: May grace and peace be yours in abundance. A Living Hope 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who are being protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials, 7 so that the genuineness of your faith—being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Although you have not seena him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that was to be yours made careful search and inquiry, 11 inquiring about the person or time that the Spirit of Christ within them indicated when it testified in advance to the sufferings destined for Christ and the subsequent glory. 12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in regard to the things that have now been announced to you through those who brought you good news by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things into which angels long to look! A Call to Holy Living 13 Therefore prepare your minds for action; discipline yourselves; set all your hope on the grace that Jesus Christ will bring you when he is revealed. 14 Like obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires that you formerly had in ignorance. 15 Instead, as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; 16 for it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 17 If you invoke as Father the one who judges all people impartially according to their deeds, live in reverent fear during the time of your exile. 18 You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. 20 He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the ages for your sake. 21 Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God. 22 Now that you have purified your souls by your obedience to the truth so that you have genuine mutual love, love one another deeply from the heart. 23 You have been born anew, not of perishable but of imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.” That word is the good news that was announced to you. - Denunciation of Godlessness: Psalm 14
Fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; Language Hebrew Denunciation of Godlessness To the leader. Of David. 1 Fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is no one who does good. 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on humankind to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God. 3 They have all gone astray, they are all alike perverse; there is no one who does good, no, not one. 4 Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread, and do not call upon the LORD? 5 There they shall be in great terror, for God is with the company of the righteous. 6 You would confound the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge. 7 O that deliverance for Israel would come from Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice; Israel will be glad. New Revised Standard Version Liveology Yoga Studios creates uplifting content for your whole life. - Be Present | Habari Gani?
Enjoy the moment. Weather Sun in Aries Waxing Crescent Moon in Taurus Tuesday, April 13, 2021 Are you paying attention? Or is your mind surfing through channels? Today, we are being asked to be more present. Obviously we're here, but under this grounding Taurus mo0n, we are being asked to be here-here. Mentally present in the here & now and rooted in the physicality of our bodies in all of our glory. We are being asked to celebrate this moment - to ignore the future and the past and for a moment, to rest in the comfort of the now. There are so many distractions around us. I type much of the day and recently commented to my mother about how amazing it is that she was able to type on a typewriter and produce long documents with no errors. I can barely type a sentence without hitting the delete button. But in her heyday, she was expert. She credited it to fewer distractions like phones that enabled her to main a tremendous amount of focus for a long period of time.
- Feeling Hopeful | Habari Gani?
For you, for us, for all of us. Weather Sun in Aries Waxing Crescent Moon in Gemini Thursday, April 15, 2021 Feeling hopeful? It's been a tumultuous time, and a period of intense chaos, change and transformation. It hasn't been comfortable for anyone. But as with any growth period, growing pains feel intense until the change occurs.
- Coast | Habari Gani?
Dreams come true from the determination that says, regardless of any possible obstacle, it will work out. Weather Sun in Aries Waning Crescent -> New Moon in Aries Sunday, April 11, 2021 The moon disappears tonight. I never paid much attention to the lunar calendar prior to getting deeply involved in Ashtanga yoga, but it's been incredibly helpful to understanding the natural ebb and flow in life that is happening to all of us and each of us individually regardless of whether you're aware of it or not. The waning crescent moon moving into the new moon marks the end of the lunar month, and the monthly opportunity we have to start over. This reset allows us to reflect on how things are going and think about what things we should change... or if things are going well, how to keep up the steady momentum. The catch with a reset is, we don't know exactly how things will be on the other side. This moving into the newness of the unknown is an opportunity to test our faith. Not faith in some outside being, but simply faith in ourselves. Do you believe in yourself? Would you bet money on yourself? How much?
- Congratulations | Habari Gani?
Congrats, kiddo. Weather Sun in Aries Waning Gibbous Moon in Sagittarius Friday, April 2, 2021 How have you been feeling, family? It's been a wild year, and I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate you, yes you, my dear, for doing so amazing. As we get older, it seems that there are fewer and fewer built in occasions to celebrate. It always feels like we have to wait for big events to celebrate ourselves and our loved ones, but today it's a random day for me, and I'm celebrating and congratulating you just because. But more than that, I want you to celebrate and congratulate yourself for the same reason - just because.
- Be Honest | Habari Gani?
Stop holding it in. Weather Sun in Taurus Waxing Crescent Moon in Libra Sunday, April 25, 2021 Let's be honest. There's something in the air that says we need to be fully transparent and honest with ourselves about who we are and what we want. The Libra moon wants to seek balance and harmony with our surroundings and those around us. This is an admirable goal, but sometimes this comes at the expense of expressing our true selves and our honest opinions because we are more concerned about protecting the feelings of those around us. Are you people pleasing, denying the fullness of who you are, or hiding your true feelings about something? As much as we may want to pretend that we are doing these things to protect other people, we are the ones ultimately making a recurring choice to reject the deepest parts of ourselves when we hide our true feelings.
- Outside? | Habari Gani?
Take your ideas outside and into the world. Weather Sun in Taurus Waning Crescent Moon in Pisces Thursday, May 6, 2021 Are you ready to go outside? It's warming up, and we are enjoying the warm weather and spending time outside. We are also feeling the call to spend time get out of our mental house and get into the world. If you have a project or hobby that you've been keeping to yourself, it's time to show the world. Take it outside.
- It Feels so Good to Say NO | Habari Gani?
Repeat after me. Thanks, but no! Weather Sun in Pisces Waxing Crescent Moon in Aries Monday, March 15, 2021 It feels so good to say no. There was once a time, when I thought it was prudent to have a yes on my lips at all times. Have you seen the movie Yes Man ? It features Jim Carrey, one of my favorite actors, playing a character who has been down on his luck and receives some advice to start saying yes so that he can change his life. Say yes to everything! Say yes to life! On some level, I have held a belief in the power of saying yes! As many opportunities seemed to come my way, I would contemplate them, but say yes to most things unless I really had a reason to say no. As I'm growing older, and a little bit wiser, that default yes is turning more into a default no, and not because I've lost my yes to life. Quite the contrary! I am coming to realize that saying yes to life, saying yes to yourself, in fact, requires that you say no to most things.
