Are you in need of a miracle?

Monday, January 14, 2026
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Today, the topic that is on my heart is the crucifixion and what it means to crucify the flesh.
As I'm sure you already know, the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth was a literal event that occurred in Israel around 2,000 years ago. As Christians know, that was not the end of the story. The flesh may have been defeated for a short time, but soon he rose again in all glory. We will come to the 2,000 year anniversary of these events 7 years from now, in 2033.
But story of the Christ, the crucixion and resurrection, is not a one time event that is now over. It lives on in believers all over the earth to this day. Everyone is called to take up their respective crosses and follow. This means that all of us are called to a sort of spiritual crucifixion that leads to resurrection in Christ and entry into the kingdom of heaven.
All of us are born with a hard edge that needs to be sandpapered down, a tendency toward evil, or an inclination that we need to overcome. Some spend their whole lives and lean into their personal dysfunction. But some, who hear the gospel, understand that with the help of God, we too can do "greater things... if we just believe."
That same Jesus (Yeshua) who healed the sick, allowed the blind to see, and raised the dead didn't just do that in the time he was living. It is still ongoing, even to this day in 2026. This is why the gospel of Jesus Christ is so powerful and why those who tap into it are so excited to tell others about this miraculous power. Anyone who has experienced it knows the story is very real, that miraculous healing is very real, and that transformation is very possible.
But not everyone is willing to receive these miracles becasue not everyone is willing to be crucified. This is not a literal crucifixion on the cross. It is a spiritual crucifixion, an ego death, a death to the lower self in order to be filled up by the God energy, which Christians call the Holy Spirit. It is a letting of our evil tendencies and inclinations, repentance of the things we have done in the past that separated us from God and others, and a daily attempt to become more Christ-like every day.
This is not easy, and it cannot be done through our own power or even good works. It is only by the power of God that we can overcome the flesh and live in the Spirit. But when we surrender our will, our bodies, our actions, and our entire lives to God, miracles truly happen.
What do you need to surrender and allow God to crucify in your life? What miracle do you hope to receive on the other side of your resurrection?
Journal Prompt:
What do I need to allow God to crucify in your life?
What do I need to let go of that I have been holding onto, though you know it does not benefit me?
How can I move into increasing levels of discipline and self-control?
Make it plain. I need God to work [this miracle] in my life.
As always, wishing you abundant life, love, joy, peace, & prosperity.
Love,
