Our bodies are massive stories of energy. How we direct our energy is up to us, and bandhas, or energy locks, are a way of directing the flow of energy in the body.

Uddiyana bandha, which we begin to find in this Wide Legged Forward Bend, helps to create upward rising energy and stabilizes the core. Try sucking in the low belly in this pose, allowing the breath to move into the upper chest and back ribs.
