Information

Turkeys are two-legged large birds. They have a fleshy appendage around the face and beak called a snood, which are used for mating. They are omnivores, consuming grass, seeds insects and other vegetation. Turkeys have been domesticated by humans for around 2,000 years for meat, though they can be aggressive at times.

Turkey meat is commonly consumed at Thanksgiving, in the United States, though beginning in 1989, it is a tradition for the president to pardon one special turkey.
